* Surboum pour 4 roues
* Les moines rouges (1964)
* Les momies de Saint-Sulpice (previously unpublished).

Trevligt med info, men det blir nästan spamkänsla när var och varannan franskbelgisk tråd får samma behandling. Jobbar du på förlaget?
With great collections comes great responsibility.

Gil Jourdan (Max Jordan) => Atom Agency.
Bild
Atom Agency del 1, Spirou del 4192 (för publicering)

The drawer Olivier Schwartz and scenarist Yann (known from Angel Wings, Bear's Tooth (Dent d'ours), etc.) intended to continue Gil Jourdan, but the heirs of Maurice Tillieux didn't alllow this. So they recently startet their own private-detective series: Atom Agency, with the young Armenian detective Atom Vercorian from Paris, his temperamental fiancé Mimi and their friend, the former wrestler Jojo La Toupie. The stories are in the 40s (just after WW-II) and 50s. The drawing-style of Schwarz is close to Maurice Tillieux, and this new series has indeed a "Gil Jourdan - feel".
So far Atom Agency del 1 (released on 19 October 2018) is well received. This story had a pre-publication in the Spirou magazine too.
Schwartz, Yann and Publisher Dupuis want to continue Atom Agency. Atom Agency has been released in in France, The Netherlands and Belgium. Meanwhile Atom Agency del 1 has 2 special editions.
Presumably other countries will follow. Perhaps Atom Agency deserves it's own topic.

Another one of Tillieux' predecessors to Gil Jourdan is Félix.

Bte, in English, the correct word is usually not "drawer", by "artist".

Yep! I was translating a French text with also the word "dessinateur" and then came drawer, painter and artist. I too fast took the first, as I was already preparing a message for topic Angel Wings too. It's a busy time, this season shows a tsunami of new graphic novels (at least in France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany). And I am writing reviews too.
(A drawer is also a tray in a desk by-the-way).

PS
The oneshot "Double 7" by Juillard & Yann is in this season released in many European countries, simultaniously A rarity. In Sweden too?
In the recent past Juillard was involved with Blake & Mortimer by the way. And in my opinion scenarist Yann (age 65) is involved with too many graphic novels at the same time (like Atom Agency, Angel Wings, Thorgal, Spirou, Buck Danny Classic, Sauvage).

Sweden? Fuhgeddaboutit!

And for simultaneously released albums, I remember that "Breakthrough" anthology about the fall of the Berlin Wall in the late 80's.

@Wakuran. Pity, but at least Sweden has a seriesforum, like France and Germany. And Belgium (Flanders) (though a rather small number of members (some even from Holland), resulting in a limited number of topics.)
In France and Belgium also some artists are forum-members and participate in discussions too. Some ideas and tips from members are even implemented in their albums. Some employees of publishers are forum-members too.
France is still the center of the "9th art" though and a lot is happening and issued. Fortunately a lot of European countries follow these events. Although still too many countries wait too many years with translations (often with spoiling/censoring the original art and chronological order), or even don't publish great albums at all.

A lot of succesful graphic novels from the last century are still continued with new scenarists and artists (= creative teams). When the heirs argree. When not, like with "Gil Jourdan", the creative teams and publishers are searching for other ways to continue that success. "Gil Jourdan" has been succeeded by "Atom Agency". Actually "Gil Jourdan" had predecessors in "Félix" and "Marc Jaguar". In short, they all are in the same pond.
Well-known graphic novels from the past that aren't continued are Tin Tin, Blueberry (main series) and Dan Cooper for instance. And Albert Uderzo (91) wants "Asterix" discontinued after he dies. ("Asterix" continued with a new creative team, but Uderzo still has the finall check). And the new creative team of Tanguy & Laverdure still visit Uderzo for a final check (in the past he was involved with this aviation series).

As today the comicbook readers are mainly adults, the scenario's and drawings are adjusted. Easy with new series, more difficult with old series (like Buck Danny). Done step by step. Today starting new graphic novel series is very difficult, so the publishers have decided to start with a oneshot, a 2-part story or a trilogy. When proved successful, then a 2nd trilogy, etc.: and then they count with: cycle 1, cycle 2, etc.
That's why they prefer to continue well-known, successful series, with new creative teams and with minor changes in the concept of such a series. Sometimes even with a spin-off. And issueing "integrales" from old series; meanwhile a hype, but considered commercially important in an aging market.

PS
France and Flanders even have graphic novel journalists: https://www.ligneclaire.info/ and https://www.facebook.com/Stripspeciaalzaak.be/
With daily updates.

That's basically the way they've always done it in japan. Many long running series have a prototype chapter or two created beforehand, which then usually have many adjustments made to it before it starts for real.

In Japan there are still successful magazines where stories could be pre-published, though. In France and Belgium, Spirou is about the only magazine that's still left, I think.
